FIA Technical Manager Rob Thilthorpe presented in a webinar called ‘Servitization of the manufacturing industry and its impact on standardization’ earlier this month.
The webinar, hosted by CEN and CENELEC, looks at what servitization is, and how servitization in relates to standards development, the hows and whys of the current trend of using servitization in manufacturing industries, plus a case study of the fire alarm industry.
Since services account for 70% of economic activity within Europe, the Services sector is a key element contributing to the overall output and competitiveness of the European economy.
The webinar delves further into the need to remain competitive and the introduction in 2017 of the European services standard, EN 16763: ‘Services for fire safety systems and security systems’, and the successful impact that this standard has had on the industry.
The webinar is available to watch on the CEN and CENELEC YouTube channel, and the slides are also available to download from the FIA’s Publication Library.
