The FIA is forming a special interest group to produce guidance for those involved in the specification, design, and application of fire alarm systems in buildings where occupants have sensory needs.
Fire alarm warnings can cause unnecessary anxiety to certain groups of people, so the purpose of this SIG is to establish some useful guidance, taking into account the technology available and how it can be used in these situations whilst still satisfying the objective of the fire alarm system.
The SIG is open to FIA members who would like to provide relevant input to the formation of the guidance document.
