Once it's all over

Your alarm’s gone off and you’ve dealt with the evacuation and fire service. What do you need to do now?

• Silence the alarm but don't re-set yet! (You need information on the CIE)
• Record what happened – you should make a note in your ‘log book’ of:
  Date, time, identity and location of trigger device
  Type of false alarm
  Reason for the alarm, activity or events that contributed to it
• Now you can re-set your CIE

If you find you are getting lots of false alarms you should call your alarm service engineer immediately rather than wait for a scheduled visit.
